Tara Shannon is an accomplished multi-media artist and visual arts instructor based in Erie, Pennsylvania. She holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts with a teaching certificate from Edinboro University, where she also earned her master’s in educational leadership. Tara currently teaches at Collegiate Academy and serves as a resident teaching artist for Erie Arts and Culture.
Tara’s work is characterized by an innovative blend of classic and contemporary styles, utilizing formal drawing, painting, and compositional techniques alongside digital media. Tara’s artistic focus revolves around themes of subjective change and evolution across various mediums. Her creations have garnered attention both locally and nationally, earning recognition for their organic and abstract qualities in numerous online galleries. Additionally, Tara offers custom designs and portraits to local clients through her studio, TaraShannonArt, located in Harborcreek. Among her notable projects is an Italian-themed mural displayed at 323 Holland Street.
