“As a painter, I try to create specific narratives that reflect my lived experiences and the characteristics and personalities of my peers. I create figurative paintings and still-lives that highlight my personal relationships between myself and my friendships and how I navigate through hardships. I create oil paintings on stretched canvas on a small to medium scale. This allows me to make the narratives of my figures or still-lives feel crammed within the picture frame and can achieve the detail I desire. Through the combination of working from life, references, and navigating compositional elements out mentally, I am able to adapt the painting as I go and work intuitively. This allows me to focus on the painting process rather than the final product.”

“As I continue to develop my paintings, I am experiencing recent things in my life that influence the way I view the world within my art. I find myself growing more fond of my new events that shape the direction of my life. When I become more open about my experiences and relationships, so does my work.”
