Amanda Rittenhouse Artist Website
“At Solblomma Studios, my work is connected in the belief that creativity is both personal and a shared experience. I create with intention of balancing softness and structure, emotion and clarity to produce work that feels both grounded and expressive. My practice includes both personal work and commissioned pieces, each approached with the same level of care and intention. Personal pieces serve as a space for exploration and reflection, while commissions become collaborative translating someone else’s vision, story, or enjoyment into a visual form that feels meaningful and long lasting. I take commissions of any kind, examples such as canvas art, framed work, shoes, clothing (bags, shirts, etc.) anything you can think of!”
– Amanda Rittenhouse
Amanda Rittenhouse is an artist born and raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. They are currently studying at Mercyhurst University as an Art Education major with a minor in Art Therapy. Their work has been shown in high school showcases, as well as at a juried art show at their current school, Mercyhurst University. They were recognized for creativity and attention to detail, and while at their high school, they were rewarded with an honor cord from the National Art Society. Their artistic practices started in middle school through the school’s planned lessons, as well as my self-taught practices in acrylics, pencil, markers, watercolor & more. From there, they have worked within every medium, but it was not until the year 2020 that they discovered my interest in painting on clothing and shoes. They continue to explore mediums that are out of their comfort zone, and use new materials like sewing and fabrics, and they aim to create more collections that can be presented in new & creative ways, such as more exhibits, cultural representation, pop culture, etc. It is now that their work is a desire of maintaining interest of anyone and everyone who views it.
